'Show Net' Equestrian Information System Joins the Phelps Media Group

Show Net, created by David Orlando and Grant Williams, is a company that is dedicated to improving equestrian efficiency through advanced time management tools.

The wireless information system, Show Net, will help both management and exhibitors reach a higher level of efficiency using modern technologies that have no boundaries or restrictions.

The Show Net system, utilizing the advanced software tool, "Order of Go," will be instrumental in creating a daily show record that will be distributed through the wireless system.

Show Net will provide a management tool that will provide efficiency in every aspect of daily horse show responsibilities. "We saw a need for a more resourceful time management tool," said David Orlando.

"There is so much human resource and time wasted on a daily basis and we plan to change that. Everybody's day will become much more efficient with Show Net."

Grant Williams echoed those thoughts. "From the in gate personnel that will be able to create and upload and update the daily orders of go from their personal computers, to the exhibitors themselves, who from their desk at home, will be able to see when and at what time they go, the system will ease everybody's daily burden," Williams pointed out.

Orlando's hands on experience as a starter and as a show manager helped fuel this creation. "I spent five years at the in gate myself, I'm involved in management and to be honest, it surprises both Grant and myself, that this hasn't been developed before," Orlando said. "It has been needed for a long time."

"We came up with the concept last year," Orlando said. "We jotted ideas down on all the different streams of data that were needed. And these, in reality, are all of the various questions that are asked of the in gate people on a daily basis," he said.

"When does my class start, when do I go, who is ten away, can I move up or down; these are all questions that are asked over and over again at every in gate on the show grounds," Orlando said.

"Now, with one hand held device or a PC linked to our wireless network, the exhibitors can literally eliminate the miles of walking just to answer a simple question. They will have all of the information they need right at their finger tips," he said.

"Once the show is underway, the live and constantly updated orders will allow people to answer all their questions at one PC, located anywhere within reach of our wireless network," Williams went on to say.

"It's been about a twelve month project all in all, with six months just to write the software," said Williams. "We spent a lot of time and money investigating exactly what was needed to get this job done properly, the first time," Williams said.

Their research and attention to detail paid off with the recent successful test run at The 121st National Horse Show in Wellington, Florida. "We're thrilled with our test run at The National," Orlando beamed. "The order of go application worked flawlessly and the wireless network performed beautifully everywhere it was tested."

"We've had tremendous feedback from show management and from the exhibitors who have seen the system in operation," Williams added. "The response was 100% positive and we're very excited about that."

The Show Net system will give exhibitors, management and anyone interested in the sport, the ability to see what's happening anywhere at anytime. They choose the day they want, the ring they want and the class they want and can view the order, as it happens," Orlando said.

"In addition, standbys, numerical scoring or in the case of jumper classes, the top ten ranking to that point in the class, all will be available with a click."

"Feed and bedding orders, live scoring plus add, scratch and declarations capabilities will all be available on Show Net," Williams added.

Pricing plans for the Show Net service will be available at two levels.
